Discover the beauty of ancient life with our Black Ortho Fossil Stone Table made of orthoceras and ammonites. These rare works of art can now be yours, adding a special touch to your home decor. Our skilled craftsmen carefully sculpt each piece from blocks of stone transported from the quarries surrounding Erfoud, Morocco.
The plates are made of goniatite, a spiral-shaped fossil from the Devonian era, which is between 251 and 390 million years old. These cephalopods lived in tropical to subtropical climates in shallow seas and had internal compartments filled with gas for buoyancy. The open front chamber served as the living space for the goniatite.
Orthocears are also used in our tables, and they are the remains of extinct marine animals, dating back around 400 million years. These fossils are known as fossil stones and were ancestors to squid, living over 500 to 190 million years ago during the lower Ordovician to Triassic ages.
Each piece is unique, and while the approximate dimensions are H: 0,49 m ; L: 1 m ; W: 0,64 m, the size and shape may vary slightly from one item to another. Contact us for a free estimate and to let us know your preferences.
